My Monday has been rather boring thus far so to pass time, I present:
The info generator helpfully says there are another 1,105,275 people named Brian in the US, as well with 41,991 people named Jarvis. The former doesn't surprise me but I never would have guessed the latter.

Date: 2006-10-10 04:20 am (UTC)however, when you have a family name as unusual as mine, you tend to think you're the only one.
four or five years back, I did a search, and as near as I can tell, there are only two or three people with my last name with a listed phone in north america -- rich ambidge (the owner of ambidge.com at the time) and his wife, who in the san francisco bay area, and me in toronto. I've spoken to rich on the phone -- like me, he's from the UK; he comes from bedford, about 15mi from northampton, my family stomping grounds. (he travelled to california on a water polo scholarship of all things -- clearly HIS side of the family got all the athletic genes.)
given that scarcity, I'd not be surprised if "ambidge" falls completely below the radar of howmanyofme.com
however, there is one other person with my name - and I've met him, nearly 2y ago now. We must be related (3rd cousins once removed, I suspect). but then I suspect I'm related to any other Ambidge on the planet, much less anyone with my name exactly.
