I like keeping prints of my favourite photos. I figure I keep about 75% of the digital shots I take, and I make prints of about half of the keepers. That still translates to a lot of prints but I like photo albums: they're much more convenient to pull off the shelf & peruse than powering up a computer & loading a CD-ROM.

The downside is the constant demand for more photo albums & refill sheets.

Earlier this week, I ordered 10 packs of 10 refill sheets, each sheet holding 5 photos. That's 500 photos worth. It arrived yesterday. I have now filled all of them and I still haven't come to the end of the block of photos from our Oregon trip back in June. I figure I have another 100 prints on hand still to file. And there should be another 305 prints arriving in the mail later today or tomorrow. And the current 2006 album is bursting at the seams: I need a new album for the latter half of 2006.

When I was ordering the 10 packs of refills I seriously wondered if I was overdoing it. Figures.

Addendum, 2:30 PM: I've just ordered a replacement photo album and 150 sheets of inserts. Unless I've severely miscalculated, that should keep me in photography supplies for at least one week. :-^

Since I've gone digital I haven't updated any photo albums, or done prints. It's enough just sorting them on the computer. It's on my list of things to do (someday) to print favorites. I have a whole batch of books from the late 80's - 90's. You are good. Maybe you want to help with mine?

I'm with you, I'd much rather have a photo album. It's much more accessible at any time of the day. Having them on a DVD or the computer is nice because you can always do a slide show for a number of people, but, late at night (or any time of the day), it's just nice to pull and album off the shelf and flip through it.
