Square Dance C1 Boot Camp Weekend is On!
Jul. 24th, 2006 12:32 pmAfter much delay thanks to scheduling conflicts and other demands on my time, we've finally locked down a set of dates for an intensive C1 boot camp weekend: Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, in Arlington, VA.
We're targeting dancers with solid A2 experience who want to learn C1 but aren't able to commit to a six-to-nine month course. Graduates of this weekend won't be tremendously skilled C1 dancers but we hope to make at least minimally competent dancers so that they can polish their skills in subsequent workshops, light to moderate C1 dance events and regular club night attendance.
We're still sorting out the budget details, but my gut feeling is that the class fee would be $75. If folks are interested in having a lunch brought in to maximize dance time, we'll pass a hat to share expenses appropriately.
Out-of-towners are welcome too... I can probably scrounge up community housing for anyone interested.
And we'll need angels. We plan on at least two squares with a minimum of ten C1 newbies so we'll need at least six angels, preferably more. (Angels dance for free, of course.)
Know anyone who might be interested? Send them in my direction!
