The IAGSDC convention is in Denver in May, 2007. Officially, the convention hotel is the Grand Hyatt at 650 15th Street.

Alas, the hotel doesn't have rooms which can accommodate four adults gracefully: they do have quad occupancy rooms, but they're typically a king bed and a double bed, and neither couple fits into a double, esp. for eight days. Thus, we're looking for alternative spaces.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel or model in the vicinity of the Grand Hyatt in Denver? My (very basic) web searches via Travelocity, Orbitz and hotels.com have come up with The Magnolia and the Hampton Inn & Suites which are nearby and have rooms with two queen beds, but I want to scout around for other possibilities before making a nonrefundable deposit.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

... funny you should mention Denver

my friend Michael, who lives in Denver, is staying with moi in Trawna as we speak. I asked him, and his response is (away from any resources he has at home, of course)

Hampton Inn is probably your best bet.

The Magnolia is a boutique hotel and quite nice, but you'll pay a $$ price. It's not as close as the Hampton.

check the two websites for those two, michael advises. Magnolia is in LoDo (lower downtown) which can apparently get rather loud late at night, and very heterosexual, with clubs etc, and when the clubs / restaurants get out it gets loud. there are no gay bars in the neighbourhood.
