Bodies at Rest

I've needed a weekend like this for a while: nearly pure relaxation.
We stayed in Friday night, intentionally doing very little of anything. I slept nearly 11 hours that night, savouring every minute.
Saturday was light too. We met up with Ken Ritucci at his hotel in the late afternoon, enjoyed a tasty Chinese dinner at a favourite local restaurant, then headed over to the DC Lambda Squares dance down the road. Ken called three hours of Mainstream, Plus and Advanced with a C1 tip in the middle. I recorded four tips for transcription & study: I didn't notice any particularly novel usage of calls rather than a very comfortable & consistent flow.
I slept another 10 hours last night. Ahhhhh...
Today has been largely spent indoors. I even napped in the afternoon after reading the weekend Washington Post and the Harper's Magazine which was sitting on the coffee table. I've also caught up on some outstanding e-mail and social scheduling, composed some additional Advanced choreography for future calling gigs and generally lazed about the house.
We attempted to grill burgers in the backyard but ran out of propane half-way through; at least we could finish the burgers in the oven. The propane tank will get refilled some time soon.
cuyahogarvr and I headed out for ice cream afterwards but
kent4str begged off.
Besides me being on call, the coming week will be interesting:
- Monday: memory course with
caller_dayle;
- Tuesday:
kent4str calling for the Chesapeake Squares;
- Wednesday: C1 dancing in Arlington, VA;
- Thursday: DC Lambda Squares Plus/A2 dancing withButch Adams
caller_dayle;
- Friday, Saturday: office disaster recovery exercise.
