Dear Square Dancers and Friends of Warren Jaquith:

I am sorry to report that Warren passed away peacefully at 12:40 am this morning, with his partner Tom at his side. We have lost a truly wonderful and loving person. Warren has been such an instrumental part of our club and the square dance community, and he has been a true friend. We will miss him.

Tom has asked me to express his appreciation for all your love and support, including the many messages of love and concern that have been left on his phone. Information regarding services for Warren will be announced as they become available.

Please keep Warren, Tom and Warren's family in your thoughts and prayers.

Warren Jaquith Harper's Ferry Hoedown XII, 2006-11-12

Despite being somewhat braced for this possibility, this is still a painful blow. Warren taught me Plus and A2 (well, re-taught me Plus after a long absence from dancing) years ago. He was a fixture at DC Lambda Squares for nearly all of our 25 years, calling regularly two club nights per month and alternating years with Dayle Hodge at Harper's Ferry Hoedown.

Warren was invariably kind, gentle and supportive as a caller and instructor. He always encouraged kent4str and me in our aspiring dance calling career paths, and we shared tips several times in the past few of months. He was one of the first people to sign on to our C1 boot camp last October (as a refresher... he had danced C1 in the past but was rusty) and was a regular our follow-up Wednesday night session.

His absence will be keenly felt in the coming weeks and months. The club will survive and we will all carry on, but we've lost one of our greatest friends.
