Winter Side-Effects

bjarvisYesterday's minor wafting of fluffy snow was enough to set all of the municipal road salt & sand crews into overdrive. Apparently they were all depending on major overtime hours this season, none of which have materialized.
The chemicals added to our regional highways did quite the number on my car:
It looked even worse before I cleaned the windows while fuelling it yesterday afternoon.
I am happy to say that I'm back from lunch and found a block of time to take my car around to the local carwash for refreshing. While it could still use an extra rinse in a few spots, it is immensely better than it was: one can now tell that it is indeed green rather than powdery white (see current userpic). The wait in line at the wash was almost a half-hour but it was worth it. Good thing I ate first.
When I returned to the office, I intentionally parked my car next to the dirtiest SUV I could locate, just to enhance the appearance of spotlessness.
