Miscellaneous Notes
Jan. 18th, 2007 11:59 amSince I've been largely bedridden and too damn lazy to get my wireless laptop from the basement, I haven't posted much of late. Here's a few things which have been rattling around in the vacuum inside my skull...
Thanks to this cold, I've had no appetite whatsoever while still furiously burning calories to maintain an elevated body temperature. In fact, I've lost 10 lbs in three days. Not the way I wanted to lose the extra but it's done: now I just have switch to keeping it off.
Thinking of buying real estate in Arlington, VA? A friend of mine is selling his one-bedroom condo to upgrade to a two-bedroom unit in the same building. Click for details.
My aunt Mary passed away last night after a long and protracted battle with cancer. My father's oldest sister, I believe she was 88 years of age. My contact with Dad's side of the family has been sparse at best for the entirety of my life so her passing doesn't affect me much, but it is a reminder that my options for establishing any sort of relationship with Dad's family tree are fading fast, if I ever chose to exercise them.
I'm not planning to return to Canada for the funeral: my cold would simply infect the other 100+ people on the plane trip both ways, not to mention trigger a potentially fatal epidemic among my most elderly remaining relatives.
