Dear Brian, either you've been like Rip Van Winkle and have been asleep for all these years or you have not noticed how culturally shallow the world around us is. If you don't wish to learn of the exploits of Lindsey Lohan, the latest iThing, Jacko's doctor or the latest rash of indignities done to or by the Maddoff clan you'll need to just shut off the tele and go back to playing solitaire on your PC.
