Last night's heavy snows crushed some of the shrubs around our house but nothing too severe. I think all of our vegetation will bounce back in the spring. The tree in the back yard however lost a large branch:


Not realizing the neighbors in the back of us were feeling competitive, they had an even larger tree crash into their yard:


And not to be outdone, the neighbors across the street from us had a tree to go pieces and clobber their car:

Lots of snow and yet it looks like the street is already dry. Yay that at least.

I think the quantity of snow was distinctly less than last year, but the rain & freezing rain iced the streets before the snow fell making it a vastly worse driving environment than I've seen in years. In all, I'm glad the worst is over.

The temperature rebounded to 38F this afternoon so thin layers of snow melted to slush and water pretty quickly. It should be slightly warmer Friday so hopefully even more will melt away.
