Canadian Election Follow-up

Since PM Martin has resigned, there is a job opening for a new Liberal leader.

This afternoon, Frank McKenna, Canadian ambassador to the US, resigned his post in DC.

The race is (unofficially) on!

Ooooh. I think McKenna's a FOX. I'd love to see him head up the Liberals. If there has to be a head of a political party who's going to get a lot of photo ops and news time, he should at least be cute.

I wanna see him naked.

I'd say he's kinda cute as politicians go, but I'm not sure I'd want to see him naked. Jack Layton is more my type, but he's already running a different party. :-)

As long as we're being shallow, does anyone have a pointer handy to a photograph of either of these gentleman?

Google is your friend!

Frank McKenna is at:

Jack Layton is at:

While we're doing parliamentary beefcake, there's Garth Turner:

Google is your friend!

So are you, and I if I can get you to do the work for me...

Thanks. McKenna doesn't do much for me. Layton and Turner have possibilities. Neither is at the top of my list of "doable Canadians".

I'm waiting for official portraits of the new MPs to be posted on the parliamentary web site. There weren't many hotties in the last batch... here's hoping for a better-looking crowd this time around.

That third dimension was such a waste of physics. *giggle*

McKenna would make one of the best PMs we've had in ages!!! I hope he gets it!

John Manley has pre-emptively said he won't run so McKenna definitely has the lead now.

I haven't heard much about Sheila Copps lately, whether she might consider another run for the leadership or at least running for her old seat in Hamilton East.

Neither Sheila nor John would do as well as McKenna. Not even close.

Nah, but I wonder if they'll try getting their old seats back with a view to re-entering a future cabinet.
