while I understand your point of view, Brian, your last paragraph is not all that different in logic or rhetoric to
(a) Nancy Reagan's Just Say No - look at every one of your italicised phrases, or
(b) "guns don't kill people, people kill people".
I am NOT saying that guns are equivalent to laptops - I've never owned a firearm, nor will I; there's a cellphone in my pocket and I'm writing this on my computer connected to the intarwebz. But I don't buy the "technology is neutral" argument either.
