I haven't looked up how difficult it may be to amend the state's constitution. Passing a federal one is difficult but if one adds up the states which have already passed legislation barring same-sex marriage, only a few more need to revert to the dark ages pass anti-gay legislation to form a sufficiently large quorum. Resolutions have already passed both federal houses and W has already campaigned in favour.
