On store restocking: the radio traffic report mentioned a couple of horror stories where shipping trucks were hung up on snow banks while attempting to deliver food to stores. In one case, the snow bank in question was created *in the street* by the store's snow clearing contractor.
On the way home, I saw a minivan piled high with snow, at least 18" thick. I was thinking, you moron! and then they stopped for the light --and a huge shelf of ice broke loose and slid down onto their windshield & hood. Serves 'em right!
BTW, if you'd really like to participate, feel free to drive up and spend a few days trapped at my place! :-)
