LISA Options

bjarvisI've officially submitted my request to the powers-that-be at my office for time off to attend the upcoming LISA conference. Since my firm doesn't have any education or training benefits, I'm attending on my own dime and it's not a cheap affair.
The base price for the conference itself is $755 beforer October 12. I'll have to add $170 extra because my membership to USENIX and LISA have lapsed, although I get a $45 discount since I'm a member of LOPSA. That's net total of $880 USD.
There are a handful of half-day training sessions I'd like to attend but they would bring the total to $1410 USD, well above my limited means. I'll have to skip those this year.
Of course, this all presumes the powers-that-be will let me attend. If they do, I'll be looking for a roomie or a couch in the Baltimore area shortly.
