How come the height scales behind you don't match left-to-right? and what do the numbers represent? (on the scales, I can figger out the 1866-95 "prisoner number")
re: facial hair - the beard looks fine to moi, though you may want to narrow it side-to-side. your moustache, on the other hand, is so pale (?grey?), in most photos it doesn't really show up, so at first glance (or non-close-up pix) it looks as if you have an Abe Lincoln/ mennonite beard-with-no-upper-lip-hair.
