For registrations, do you really need wifi? If there's a dataport nearby, can't you just plug in directly with ethernet?
Of course, if you could do that, wouldn't you just hook up a 802.11n wireless router for registration only? At least you wouldn't have to work from spreadsheets.
Just trying to be helpful. I finally read the lgcwsd emails. I would ask my schedule to pay attention to the main issues, but I wouldn't put too much emotional energy into it.
