This is going to sound like a hint from Heloise, but what the heck:
If you're ever short pillows (and it seems as if you are, at least a pillow you can use without suffocation), folded towels in a pillowcase work quite well as a firm pillow.
Most hotels have towels in abundance, even if their pillows are overly fluffoid. Hope this helps.
