By an amazing coincidence, the customer I'm working with this week is... drum roll... Comcast.
I have Comcast cable at home myself. I quickly discovered that it does no good to make complaints to the internal folks... they're just as much hostages of the marketing and customer service people as we are.
With that said, Comcast pricing and channel line-up vary all over the place. It's part whatever-the-market-will-bear and part coping with competition; in the Boston area, they have to contend with both satellite and a second cable company called RCN.
In my area "basic cable" is pretty damned cheap at < $10, but you get what you pay for... very little aside from local broadcast channels. The next tier up is "digital classic", a big jump to about $55 a month, but with about 90% of the stuff I'm even vaguely interested in. So I really don't have much of a choice if I want any cable channels at all.
