01: What are your nick-names?
I don't think I have one. A friend frequently calls me "Boo Boo," the hubbies just calling me "the in-house geek" if they need something and "bitch" if they don't.
02: What facial hair are you sporting right now?
Goatee, longer & thicker than usual to help ward off the winter cold.
03:What's new in your life right now?
I started a new job just over a week ago... I'm still finding my feet on this.
04: How many colours are you wearing right now?
Black jeans, grape shirt, black white socks, tan walking shoes.
05: Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
It depends. My default mode is to be a quiet introvert but I can force myself to be extroverted for brief periods if required.
06: What was the last book you read?
"Foolishly Forgotten Americans" by Michael Farquhar. It was an xmas present.
07: Do you daydream a lot?
All the time.
08: What's the weather like now?
It's cold but clear. While this winter has been very mild, the mercury plunged (relatively speaking) earlier this week to well below the freezing point.
09: Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
Work has been frustrating. It's a new job: I want terribly to be useful and make a good impression but I feel like it's taking me too long to figure out how things are done and the breadth & limits of my responsibilities.
10: Tell me something really odd about you.
I can't think of anything... in many ways, I'm the most bland and boring person I know. If you look up "average" in the dictionary, you'll see a photo of me.
11: How long does it actually take to get ready in the morning?
I can be ready in as little as 15 minutes if its a crisis and the stars are appropriately aligned. Given a choice, I take a leisurely 45 minutes to clean myself up, select clothes and prepare for the day.
12: What websites do you visit daily?
Yahoo, LJ, Facebook. I also collect a series of podcasts from the CBC, the BBC and NPR.
13: What is your favorite candy?
Dark chocolate. Mmmm....
14: Do you like to clean?
Kinda. I like establishing order out of chaos wherever that happens to be.
15: What was the last impulse buy you made?
I bought an Asus EEE netbook last week. My old laptop died and I desperately needed a quick replacement for work and square dance calling. I did some quick research but opted to purchase within 24 hours which for me is an impulse purchase of the highest order.
16: What was the last movie you saw?
On DVD - Wall-E.
The Empire Strikes Back was on TV earlier this week but I dropped out of the last half as I had work to do.
17: What hobby would you like to take up if money/time/ability were no obstacle?
I'd love to travel internationally. Learning to pilot an airplane or ultralight would be utterly fantastic.
18: What is one of your favorite lyrics in a song ever?
"What did I do to deserve this?"
19: What states or other places do you wish to visit in 2009?
We're definitely going to Pennsylvania, Delaware, Ohio and Washington for square dancing. I'd like a trip to California to meet my new business colleagues and employer. I hope for a return trip to Canada at some point although it's undecided if it will be Ontario for family & friends or Nova Scotia for my brother's 2nd wedding. We'll also definitely be staying at our trailer in West Virginia a few weekends through the summer and fall.
20: What are you most looking forward to in the next month?
I'm looking forward to getting to California to meet my manager, colleagues and such --I was hired over the telephone in December without actually meeting anyone face to face.
I'm looking forward to next week's presidential inauguration. If nothing else, I want the local traffic & commuter nightmare to end.
