OMG I so can relate. We had a network guy disable access for a term who is not leaving until 12/1 because HR made a mistake in one field. Instead of contacting HR becuase it was very not ordinary to have this field wrong (other date field was right), he just cut access.
Then when I called him about it, he was so arrogant.
I told him had it been me I would have taken a minute to question it.
