Kinda. The drive from home to the office was better than at 8 AM, but only but a little. I'm constantly surprised at the volume of traffic around here at 5-6 AM.
What struck me most however was the volume of traffic in-bound to DC, those heading south along I270. I'm used to seeing the oncoming traffic crawling bumper-to-bumper at 20 mph from Frederick to Germantown (where two lanes enlarge to three) at 8 AM. I didn't expect it at all at 5:30 AM, but it was only slightly better than the worst of rush hour.
If I had to drive in that mess, I'd either get a job closer to home or move home closer to work. Life is too short for commutes like that.
