Forest Glen had power. In fact, they'd even pre-programmed one gate for those of us who exited last night when there was no power.
{Note - the DC subway works on a debit card system, basically. You swipe your card, whether a temporary paper one or the wireless permanent one, when you enter and when you exit, thereby allowing the system to calculate your fare, based on distance and time of day, which is deducted from your balance. However, last night the exit gates were down, so a lot of us were allowed to just walk out. This would cause problems on attempting to re-enter, since we'd never left as far as the system knew. But the clever Metro people proactively programmed a gate for us - it probably subtracted last night's fare and then checked us in for today, but it's impressive. And uncharacteristic.}
