Yesterday, we obtained our tree corpse. Now it's time to dress it up a bit.

[livejournal.com profile] kent4str brought out most of his decorations, enough for a small tree. Now it's [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr's turn...

Holiday Decorations Holiday Decorations
Dear god, it never ends! 2007-12-02

This is a small fraction of his inventory of xmas decorations. We have enough to tart up an entire forest!

Oh he's bad like I am but I've not been able to collect much in recent years and I've got 2 tubs worth, the second tub also contains other decorations that do not belong on the tree however.

The 3rd tub is for all the indoor and outdoor lights.

Please tell me he's a wrapping paper addict like me...

If this were star trek you'd hear this:

Your decoration is beautiful, but what's the junk he's holding and the junk on the table?

No one is a paper addict like you.

I've whittled it down to three tubs, but one is filled with things that didn't make the cut for the tree this year, mostly because they're the kids' ornaments. The othe two tubs that are on the tree are mostly souvenirs from travels as well as family heirlooms from my parents.

I'm looking for a twelve step program.

Unfortunately, that's a KING-Size bed, not a table. The addiction is that bad.

Ah... I have some stuff from my Mom's but mostly stuff I've collected at estate sales and such, including discount stores, Target and such. I mostly collect German style glass ornaments, or vintage American glass ornaments from the likes of Merry Brite (which, coincidentally are being made now thanks to Christopher Radco and Co).

The lights are the older style C7 bulbs and string sets in the multi color solid and transparent bulbs, some flashers, some non. The strings and most of the bulbs are 80's era BTW.

My outdoor lights are older C9 bulbs and strings, possibly from the 70's and were bought at an estate sale

And I should add that I do get at least one ornament most years for Christmas, if not 2 so have some unusual ones in my collection

It was NOT a Chicken Dance Elmo, praise be to the gods of quiet childrens' toys.

Matching NICE laptops for my spouse and myself.

And a Fisher Price first computer for the nearly-3-year-old.

We nearly fainted.

None needed, I agree.

However, we are extremely amused (not surprised, just amused) that they were the ones to provide our child with her first computer.

did you get all of the glitterati placed in decorative venues, after laying it all out on the bedlinen? I'm having visions of someone getting goosed at 3am when they roll over onto an ornament that snuk under the sheets

All of the ornaments made it to their decorating homes, but the comforter is still "glitterized".
