My replacement passport has not yet arrived, but Passport Canada has billed my TD Canada Trust credit card $97 CDN ($105.13 USD) in processing fees.

On the presumption that they wouldn't bill my card unless they accepted my application as is, I should have a new passport in a few weeks and will be able to enter Canada via air or boat once again.

that sounds like success to moi. I had a very painless application procedure, no certified cheque, just send away the paper, get the stuff back by Xpresspost

you got someone to say your photo really does look like you?

Ok, why does the Canadian dollar being worth so much more now than the American make me so sad?

*goes and hordes Canadian quarters*

Just in time for it to start to get too cold for anyone to *want* to!

You're assuming that the Canadian passport office behaves differently from the US one.

As we learned a couple of years ago, the fact that the US passport office has accepted your money means nothing except that they received your application.
