I love bananas. Outside of [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr and [livejournal.com profile] kent4str, they're probably my favourite fruit.

Bananas by themselves, banana bread, banana muffins, banana ice cream... it's all wonderful.

I generally prefer my chocolate uncontaminated with misc fruit flavourings but I make an exception for bananas. Bananas dipped in dark chocolate fondue, chocolate chips in banana muffins... Mmmmm.

OK, the carbon footprint for importing them is astronomical, but since I don't drink coffee --another huge carbon offender-- I don't feel too bad.

Just sayin'.

Imagine if people had to give up coffee to decrease their carbon footprint.
Or vanilla.
Or bananas.
Or mangoes.
Or....

I suspect dropping vanilla, bananas and such would annoy people but we'd live. But dropping coffee might cause the economy to crash by 25% or more in lost productivity. :-)

I have recently discovered bananas and peanut butter. I didn't realize what I was missing all these years!

Hmm... haven't tried that combo before. I'm generally not a fan of peanut butter but I'll give it a try.

OK, you've lost me on that one. I'm generally not a big fan of cheese of any kind. Once you've lived on a dairy farm, the magic is gone.

then how about whipped marshmallow sauce????
Not that I've tried it, but seen it.

From: [identity profile] bjarvis.livejournal.com
I've tried it a few times. Depending on the brand, I found it either tasteless fluff or excessively sweet. In any case, it seemed more a distraction from the food it was topping than a complement to it.

No, I meant it as in a sliced banana sandwich with marshmallow sauce spread on it.

I never got the whole coffee thing (which of course seeing my brother fall over himself for a cup of coffee makes it even more humorous to me).

i just never liked it.

While I love the smell of coffee, I can't abide the taste. I wake up bright and early, all bright eyed and perky, with a song in my heart and a hardon in my jammies a smile on my face.

Never could stand the taste of coffee...and the smell always reminds me of an ashtray someone dumped beer into...I prefer my caffeine carbonated, and as close as possible to 32 degrees fahrenheit(0 degrees celsius for you foreigners) as possible without actually causing ice crystals to form...preferrabley Diet Dr. Pepper or Diet Coke...people have died trying to give me Diet Pepsi....

Same here... zero interest in coffee. Coke Classic is my preferred carbonated, caffeinated sugar water, served near-crystallizing cold. No interest in the diet stuff though: I need the sugar like Courtney Love needs her smack.

I find that if I drink sugared soda, I crash very shortly there-after. If I take my sugar straight, such as colored sugar candies, I don't crash.

Bananas have never been my thing. I just... don't like them. Oddly enough, I love fried plantain. It is kind of freaky to think that these staple fruits are the product of sterile, genetic mutant plants that could not exist without major human intervention. :)

I'm not one for coffee either (okay, I do Fivebucks from time to time, but I'd be just as happy with diet pop). My carbon footprint excesses are avocadoes and mangoes. Mmmm....

[livejournal.com profile] kent4str doesn't like bananas either. I love plantain... yum!

Kinda neutral on avocadoes... I don't perceive much flavour and the texture is uninteresting. Mangoes, however, are fabulous. And honeydew melons. And lemons, limes, pears and peaches. I'm a fruit freak. :-)

As you know, until recently, I've not been a big fan of bananas. Little did I know that it was because bananas are meant to be eaten when they're bright yellow and not brown and/or black. Sigh!

My mother's teats were barren so I was weaned on java. Fortunately, she wore the coffee in bags that she hung by her bosom so that we still had that bonding time.

with a song in my heart and a hardon in my jammies

you wear jammies?

(no, for moi (unlike Marilyn), the answer to the question "what do you wear to bed" is NOT "Chanel number 5, of course")

I did date someone who did in fact wear jammies. After we'd "do it", he would get up and put them on, despite my insistence that cuddling nekkid after doing the deed was part of the fun.

We didn't last too long.

Plantains

Okay, here's where you lose me. You two can have all the plantains you want. Avacadoes, aka guacamole, are another story. I LOVE guacamole, aka avacados.

I'm not surprised that the relationship turned out to be ephemeral.

The last time I owned jammies was when I was 21 and had had a car smunch, followed within hours by the surgical removal of my (by this point ruptured) spleen. I was in hospital for 3wks, and my mum brought me jammies, which I appreciated, much better than the indignighties Scarborough General was providing.

These days, if it's cold, I might wear a Tshirt or sweatshirt to bed. And if I'm unwell (and getting the chills), or in a group where being clothed is appropriate, I'll wear sweats.

but I'm in bed ALONE in those situations. I find that if there are 2 in the bed, it's pretty warm, and I don't need (much less want) clothing in the way. And, as you say, cuddling skin-to-skin is much more fun.

This was my favourite song as a little kid, and I would always make my aunties sing it to me.

I'll wear shorts and a t-shirt if I'm crashing on someone's sofa, but generally, prefer to be nekkid in bed.

That said, one time I was sharing a hotel room with 3 friends, two each in a bed. We woke up, and after showers, David made sure he had on gym shorts and a t-shirt, Peter and I were in boxers and no shirts, and Dean was completely naked. Needless to say, Dean and I had shared a bed that night. And we did more than just sleep.

leaving Peter and David (clothed in some form, one assumes) in the other bed, literally as the audience, listening to you and Dean having naked fun. (I'm assuming your boxers got abandoned, maybe I'm being presumptuous here). Did P&D behave themselves? or were you having too much fun to notice?

most amusing.

though I must allow, slut that I am, I'd've been tempted to ask if I could join in.

The boxers were lost right after I pulled the covers up.
Dean and I waited until we were damn sure our roommies were asleep, and even then, one woke up. Apparently the noise we made in the shower the next morning woke one of them up, too.

*sigh*

And slut that I am, I would have said "yes".
