Calendars and Dates
Aug. 7th, 2007 09:23 amAs Labour Day approaches --slowly-- I figured it was time to take a good look at my schedule thru New Year's.
Chesapeake Squares is asking what Saturdays we're available for a Mainstream class. OK, no problem... I'm sorting that out with
kent4str currently.
I still need to sort out scheduling with DC Lambda Squares... I'll ping the appropriate bodies before lunch today about their requirements and plans.
The big surprise for me was how few paid vacation days I have left in my accumulated leave balance. At the moment, I have barely five days of paid vacation left, but I have bookings which require 12. This seemed odd... each year, it's been a struggle to use up my default vacation time before they evaporate --that's why I haven't been micromanaging them this time.
Digging deeper into the records, I found two weeks in June were marked as vacation time instead of regular work time. I've updated those references and sent a note to my manager for approval; fortunately, I keep extensive work logs so I can prove I was working during that time. If all goes well, I'll get 92 vacation hours back in my queue, just a shade over 12 business days and exactly what I need to satisfy my outstanding bookings and appointments. Whew!
