we didn't have AC until I was in 4th grade, and then it was just window units that didn't work very well. And we survived
did you have to walk six miles to and from school when you were young? barefoot? uphill both ways??
I'm fairly sure brian did, but in his case it was barefoot
in the snow.
(we didn't have this problem in England, but then, I didn't own a pair of long trousers until I was 10, so the knees got chilly even without snow)
