Every year, I get utterly stressed out about the level of commitment --at least in addition to all the other things demanding my attention-- but it always seems to be much less than anticipated when it's all over. It is a huge relief though not having to coordinate the volunteers prior or set up/tear down the booth during the festival.
Baltimore's pride day is a longer commitment but a much more comfortable venue (the grass of Druid Hill Park vs. the asphalt of Pennsylvania Avenue) so it doesn't feel as stressful.
