Gay marriage bill passes Canadian Senate

bjarvisBill C-38, the bill legalizing gay marriage in Canada, passed 3rd reading in the Senate last night by a 2:1 margin. After royal assent (the signature of Governor General Andrienne Clarkson) expected later today, gay marriage becomes law.

My grandmother sent me e-mail this morning to ask when Kent & I will be travelling north for a proper wedding. So much for Kent's plan for us to sneak into the country quietly without alerting the family.
