The CD-ROM which arrived is indeed genuine and passes Microsoft's registration process, but it is an upgrade Windows XP Home Edition CD whereas I was bidding on a complete installation CD. I can use it since it will boost my old Win98 to something a little more modern, but I'm irked with the bait-and-switch by DealTree (the vendor). I'm now taking this up with them to see if they will either return a portion of my payment or simply replace the CD-ROM.
