Uh Oh.

The campground in West Virginia where we have our trailer is up for sale. Owner Daniel W. has decided to retire.

I learned this first via a letter from Daniel last week in which he gave his reasons and even proposed a group of on-site residents might want to consider pooling their resources to buy the campground. Today, I received an email from a friend who found the for-sale listing online.

(BTW, if you look at the listing's slide show, check out the last photo. That's our trailer on the left. :-))

Our official letter indicated that the 2010 contracts would be honoured --we prepaid for the 2010 season in September per normal practice at Roseland. Still, it makes me wonder what may happen in 2011.

If there's no buyer for the campground, we could move our trailer elsewhere but frankly we have no vehicle capable of moving it, and it would be a delicate move anyway to avoid scraping against the deck. Even if we were to move the trailer, where would we go? We bought it jointly with [livejournal.com profile] jearbear65oh & hubby from Columbus, OH, so we'll need to consult to see if we can find another campground equally accessible from DC and Ohio. *sigh*

Anyone looking for a great business opportunity with $1.75 million to spare?
