Tonight was one of our better C2 nights. By far.
I was teamed up with Bob Lewis, one of our older but very experienced dancers. He had no issue with me dancing the girl's part, although I felt a little awkward --I'm much more confident dancing the boy's role. (For the uninitiated, a more accurate expression would be the 'right-hand dancer' and 'left-hand dancer' of an original couple but that's too verbose for rapid calling. In LGBT dancing, any gender may dance any role they wish; the straight community isn't always as comfortable or obliging but John Marshall's dancers are a good bunch that way.)
Outside of the occasional misstep on my part for the gender adjustment, I danced pretty well, even with the new call: criss-cross your neighbour. A couple of the weaker dancers in our class also were in especially good form tonight so we did well all evening with three full squares on the floor. To borrow from

We've submitted our paperwork and check for the upcoming Midsummer's Night Dream in York, PA, towards the end of July. We'll be there Thursday evening although we're not yet clear on how early in the evening. In any case, see you there!
