Still undecided what to do this coming weekend? Come see me! :-)

I'm landing in San Francisco around 9 AM; once I get checked into my hotel, I'm available through the daytime.

Saturday evening, I propose dining at the Firewood Cafe in the Castro for dinner, about 7 PM or so. Dessert will be sought following... suggestions are welcome. Leave a comment here if you can join us.

Sunday morning, it's dim sum at 11 AM at the Hong Kong Flower Lounge, 1671 El Camino Real, Millbrae, CA, conveniently located near the Millbrae BART station. All are welcome to join... please let us know so we can ensure we have enough seats. (The balance of my day is unbooked.)

Monday & Tuesday evenings are tentatively booked for dinner & drinkies, precise location still to be determined and subject to negotiation.

Alas, Wednesday night I have to work an evening shift 7 PM to potentially as late as 3 AM. Ick. Still, that particular shift is the key reason for the trip to SF in the first place so I shouldn't complain.

Thursday afternoon, I return to DC in time for the Memorial Day weekend at the trailer... yay!

I started my day with a code deployment for my employer's non-production environment. Fortunately, this is largely automated and takes only 1-2 hours maximum. Being three hours ahead of Pacific time, it's also easy for me to sleep in while still beating everyone at HQ out of bed.

Shortly after 11 AM, we were off to Baltimore for the day. Our friend PD was in town in his role as company manager for the road show of "Movin' Out" at the Hippodrome Theatre; he got us superb seats and let us take him out for a late lunch/early dinner at the Mt Vernon Stables between his matinee and evening shows.

PD, [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr and [livejournal.com profile] kent4str:

We were home again before 6 PM, much earlier than I had previously anticipated. I celebrated with a quick nap. :-)

Having telephoned my grandmother yesterday, my only Mother's Day obligatory telephone call was to Mom. The temperatures in northern Ontario are gradually creeping towards 50 degrees Fahrenheit and most of the snow is gone although there are still shaded areas where the snowbanks had been deep where some may yet be found.

The parents are doing well, more or less. Mom was commenting on how Dad had been working on a particular stretch of the yard, trying to correct some ruts. Uh, what? At what point did my father --the guy who for decades insisted a well-maintained yard was a sign of people without sufficient real work to occupy themselves-- start obsessing about the quality of his own yard? I suspect someone may have abducted my parents and replaced them with, well, human beings.
