And Back To Boredom
Dec. 3rd, 2008 12:26 pmI have a handful of work-related projects but all are scheduled for the rest of this week, beginning tonight. I've done all of the advanced preparation work so I'm largely twiddling my thumbs, waiting for something interesting to come down the pipeline. Wednesdays are a dead zone for me.
We have eight Sun Microsystems T5140 servers on order, but since I haven't been able to get a firm delivery date, planning is difficult. If they get here on or before Dec 19, cool. If not, they're not my problem.
With my brief period of unemployment on the horizon, I calculated my income for December to ensure all bills will be handled. I figure with two paychecks, unused regular vacation and reimbursement for unused purchased vacation, we should be able to wipe out most of our household credit card balances & bills, our pending car insurance premium and still put some dollars into savings. If the so-called retention bonus comes through, that's extra money for either savings or paying down the equity line of credit. I'd like to transfer some money to my Canadian checking account too, just in case.
I've caught up on the latest batch of IAGSDC convention registration and billing issues --we're currently at 493 registrations. I have one returned newsletter from the pre-Thanksgiving batch with a bad address... I'll have to dig to see if I can find an email address for the guy so I can get updated information.
It just occurs to me that I do have something to do with my time: recompile the totals of GCA guest caller slots for the convention schedule. Howard Richman is doing the grunt work of scheduling and assigning, but I owe him an update since our last round of schedule tweaking.
