I had a handful of high priority tasks to accomplish at the office today; I tackled them all within 15 minutes before 7:30 AM, telecommuting from our basement. The balance of the work day will be spent attending a handful of meetings and planning tasks & projects for the balance of the month.

Originally, I was going to take today as a vacation day to work on Harvest Festival Hoedown stuff, as well as getting my butt to Shepherdsdown, WV, early to help set up. However, since others are running the registration desk and even that can't be opened until 5 PM, I can actually put in a full day at the office before heading west. I don't especially want to be here but I'll use that saved vacation day somewhere else soon enough.

I've also scanned and sorted updated caller contracts for the 2009 IAGSDC convention. While we had the initial caller contracts all signed and filed a long time ago, there were more recent amendments related to travel and start times which we could only nail down closer to the convention dates. I have about half of these amendments now and the rest are, I trust, currently in the mail to me.

It appears we have the GCA membership meeting at the IAGSDC convention locked down: 12-2 PM, Thursday, April 9, in the Maryland Suite. The delegates meeting follows, 2-5 PM, in the same room. The GCA board asked for a larger time block to allow some mingling prior, as well as time for membership renewals, taking of attendance, etc.. Depending on how much the hotel is charging, we might even have drinks and hors d'oeuvres available.

Two of three caller contracts for Harvest Festival Hoedown 15 for November 2009 are on my desk too. I'm sure the third is in the mail as well (hint, hint :-)).

This morning, I remembered the power supply for my laptop... go me. :-^ My podcasts for the day are done, although the BBC environmental podcast imagining a world without cows was actually a podcast about American homeless Iraq war veterans.

We have a lot of GCA activity at this year's HFH, including:
- a GCA open mic Friday, 7-8 PM;
- [livejournal.com profile] kent4str calling two hours of Advanced Friday, 8-10 PM;
- Zip Warmerdam calling an hour of Mainstream & Plus, Saturday, 9-10 AM;
- me calling an hour of Advanced Saturday, 11 AM-12 PM;
- Chris Phelan calling an hour of Mainstream Saturday, 3-4 PM; and
- Mike Shagina calling an hour of Mainstream, Plus & Advanced Saturday, 7-8 PM.
Of course, all of the staffers this year ([livejournal.com profile] justetthon, [livejournal.com profile] otterpop58, [livejournal.com profile] ewe_bull_akr and [livejournal.com profile] caller_dayle) are all members as well so it's a 100% clean sweep for the GCA! Yay!

As soon as I get done with some minor reporting I'm going to re-examine my card stacks for my hour of A2 Saturday, beginning at 11 AM at this weekend's Harvest Festival Hoedown. I have no idea if anyone might ask for an A1 set so I have that standing by too, just in case.

My last count had 115 pre-registrants. I know more have said they'd register at the door and a few others said they'd be coming for Saturday only. Yay again!
