bjarvis: (DC Lambda Squares)
Last evening was pleasantly relaxing, something I really needed this week.

[livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr and I met with [livejournal.com profile] kent4str at Thaitanic for dinner around 6 PM. The restaurant was largely empty and food was quickly served --memo to self: 6 PM is a really good time to go there.

After dinner --I had the drunken noodles with chicken-- we arrived at National City Christian Church early for a previously scheduled tour of the church itself. While we've been there for more than a year, I've never ventured beyond the social halls in the lower level. The tour included a quick trip through the oldest areas of the church, including the sanctuary: I had no idea LBJ and James Garfield were both congregants. The music director also have a very comprehensive description & tour of the church's *huge* pipe organ.

We were a little late to arrive for the dancing; [livejournal.com profile] justetthon already called her first A2 tip of the night. The dancing was fun, even though it was clear that brain-death was creeping in on everyone as the evening rolled on. By the final tip, I was ready for right & left grand to crash the square.

Upon returning home, I quickly registered [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr and [livejournal.com profile] kent4str for Cleveland's "Load the Boat" fly-in in early October so we could get the lower $65/dancer registration rate. I'm attending too, but I won a free registration at ACDC 2007; my papers are in the mail this morning.

bjarvis: (sleeping)
The pain between my shoulder blades is improving. Before going to bed last night, [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr used the hand-held vibrating massager to pound my tenser muscles into submission. A subsequent squeeze by [livejournal.com profile] kent4str caused a lot of snap, crackling & popping with a huge diminishment in pain and discomfort.

This morning, I'm still feeling a dull throb but my mobility is nearly normal again. Hopefully, all will be well again in another day or two.
