Lazy Sunday
Jul. 20th, 2008 08:59 pmWe were a little productive on Sunday, but not too much.
kent4str and
cuyahogarvr did some yard work, trimming hedges and hacking their way through the flower bed in the back yard. The sun is still trying to kill me so I hid in the basement where I would be safe from its evil ultraviolet radiation. The office is a lot tidier now anyway.
I attempted to use our small shop-vac to tackle some of the mess of our master bathroom. It's in mid-renovation right now: all fixtures are removed and all interior surfaces down to the wall studs. There's dust and chunks of plaster & mortar everywhere. I was hoping to clean up the worst of it so that our contractor would have a slightly neater space in which to work and spend fewer billable hours cleaning it himself, as well as perhaps reducing the amount of dirt and dust distributed through the rest of the house. Alas, our little vac isn't big enough to tackle this job so I had to surrender within five minutes.
A house for sale up the street from us was having an open house in the afternoon so we went to take a look. The place is easily twice the size of our current house and is much newer. There was so much to like about it but the $585,000 price tag would mean doubling our current mortgage payment and property taxes to about $3,200 per month. It's a nice house but that's out of our range. It was a nice fantasy for 3.5 seconds though.
I've finally dumped all of my Cleveland IAGSDC convention photos into my Mac, then sorted, labelled, cropped and corrected the red-eye on the lot. Now I have to figure out why iPhoto is locked up after exporting the first 44 images so I can get the damn things onto my web site.
