I'd like to get a nice set of professional-looking business cards to give to possible square dance contacts. Of course, I should have done this a long time ago rather than waiting until three weeks before the IAGSDC convention... Doh!

Anyone have advice on how to do this, pitfalls in the process or even where to start? In the absence of any prior experience, I was thinking of approaching a couple of gay-owned printed/promotion businesses I know to see what deal can be had.

I'm calling two hours of Mainstream for the DC Lambda Squares tonight... drop by if you're in the neighbourhood!

While looking through the latest GCA newsletter, I just realized I had a credit for being on the editorial board, another for co-writing an article with [livejournal.com profile] kent4str and six for photographs --and I was in three of the photos!

It's all about me! :-)

I'd like to thank the Academy...

Tonight's Mainstream dance went well, I think: I was worried the heat & humidity might keep many people away but we still had 10 dancers, about average for these Monday night sessions.

As with previous Mainstream dances, I ran through the entire list, called some lefty versions of calls, used a few non-standard positions to give them a little mental stimulation and workshopped anything which seemed to cause heart-burn. We finished the evening with some regular wind-in-your-face dancing. At their behest, we called it an early night, knocking off five minutes early.

Future Mondays will be Butch Adams' latest Mainstream class so I'm available for C1 with the Ettseteras for the summer. In fact, I'm calling their next C1 event in two weeks' time, as well as Plus/Advanced for DCLS this coming Thursday. Whee!
