Per usual, I'm up to my ears in projects at home but twiddling my thumbs at the office. One of these tasks pays real dollars while the other doesn't, and it's not the alignment most right-thinking people would assume. *sigh*

In any case, here's my quick summary of the weekend that was, plus photos.

Friday:
The drive was comparatively easy from DC to Roseland Resort in the west end of West Virginia. A lot of people definitely decided to stay off the road due to fuel prices. Works for me!

Unloading the minivan and opening up the trailer took only a few minutes --have I mentioned lately how happy I am we're not tent camping currently?

We were last there in April, we suspected a possible leak in the seal around the ceiling vent in the main bedroom. As a precaution then, we placed plastic sheeting over the bed and a plastic tub under the place we thought a drip might develop. Sadly, we were right: the tub had a couple of cups of water. [livejournal.com profile] kent4str was prepared for this possibility and quickly climbed onto the roof to reseal the vent. It didn't rain all weekend but we placed the tub and sheeting in the same position again when we left, just in case.

[livejournal.com profile] jearbear65oh and David joined us in the late evening. I had hoped to unpackage the telescope for viewing but the skies were overcast so we called it a night relatively early.

Saturday:
We did some minor maintenance work around the deck. I added further gravel and levelled the paving stones in the landing at the foot of our deck stairs. [livejournal.com profile] kent4str removed the failing rope lights around the edge of the deck and replaced them with new solar powered lights... they look lovely.

Much lounging, napping and reading followed. We took a couple of walks to stretch our legs but nothing major. We came to relax and that's what we were going to do, dammit.

[livejournal.com profile] jearbear65oh & David's friend Chris came over with his boyfriend Aaron to cook us a fabulous dinner in the evening... delicious!

The skies were clear both Saturday and Sunday so I got a lot of good viewing in (see prior posts).

Sunday:
Even more lounging, napping, reading, etc.. Mmmmmmm.

[livejournal.com profile] jearbear65oh grilled pork chops for dinner and did a great job with them. Loved the salad too. Did I mention we did a lot of eating this weekend?

Monday:
[livejournal.com profile] jearbear65oh & David had to leave early for a prior commitment back in Columbus, OH; we were on the road by 1 PM ourselves after we packed up our stuff, cleaned up the trailer and closed it until our next visit. We likely won't be able to return until July but I'm looking forward to it.
