It's been a busy day already. So far, we've:
  • ordered ceramic tile for our bathroom renovation project (about $1500 down, another $1500 to go);
  • dropped off some surplus items at Goodwill and bought a small electric fan/heater for the trailer for $7;
  • lunch at Boston Market --love the meatloaf;
  • stopped at Safeway for some items and dropping off shopping bags for recycling;
  • dug out some props from the attic for an upcoming DC Different Drummers concert;
  • cleaned out the house's eavestroughs (gutters, if you're American);
  • distributed grass seed in the bare patches of the lawn;
  • replaced a battery in [livejournal.com profile] kent4str's watch;
  • washed two loads of laundry;
  • coordinated & made reservations for dinner with [livejournal.com profile] madknits & friends ce soir.

Still to do:
  • packing tools, food and equipment to de-winterize the trailer next weekend;
  • prep for calling a square dance in Lewes, DE, tomorrow;
  • iron shirts.

I've finally posted the photos from last weekend's Independence Squares' square dance fly-in. Click here for the joy!

[livejournal.com profile] kent4str and I are just arriving back home froma delightful dinner with [livejournal.com profile] madknits visiting from the Boston area and his local hosts [livejournal.com profile] writerbear81 and his hubby Robert.

We met up at Neramitra, a delightful thai restaurant in Crystal City, VA; a friend of ours, Jeff, lives in the area and had no evening plans so we begged him to join us as well --it was the promise of ice cream following which compelled him to toss his lot in with us.

This was the first time I had met [livejournal.com profile] madknits or [livejournal.com profile] writerbear81 in person, although I've been reading their journals for nearly as long as I've been on LJ. It was no surprise at all that they were each just as fun and charming in person as they are online; the conversation flowed effortlessly through dinner at the restaurant, around the table after dinner, in the line at Cold Stone Creamery and as we slowly savoured our desserts.

I wish we could have stayed longer but [livejournal.com profile] kent4str and I have to be up early tomorrow to drive to Delaware for a noon gig. We'll just have to pick up where we left off when we next get together.

And now for the obligatory photos! )
