Roseland Resort Update
Mar. 11th, 2008 12:17 pmRoseland Resort is the gay campground where we keep our trailer and spend much time lounging during the spring, summer & fall.
At the end of last season, we were intrigued by a large excavation just below the swimming pool deck and cottages:

In a monthly e-mail update from Roseland management, we've learned what this is all about:
The announcement you have all been waiting for. The big dig is......
An in-ground, heated pool complex with a southwestern theme. There will be two decks as part of this complex. The Upper Santa Fe deck with snack bar and the lower Santa Fe deck that will surround the pool. The pool will be heated by solar and gas. That's all of the details I am giving at this point. This is the largest expansion project since we built the Rec Hall. The Cabana Deck will remain an activity area with parties, Cafe, sunning.
This is intriguing. I'm not much for swimming, especially since the pool area is very popular (read crowded) and the sun is still trying to kill me with ultraviolet radiation of the nastiest kind. Still, if this and the additional cabins & camping spaces make the campground more popular, it's a good thing overall.
BTW, the trailer next door to ours is apparently for sale. Check out Rose Hill site #256 (the second entry on the list)... In the left edge of the first photo of that trailer, you'll see ours winterized & wrapped in a tarp like an oversized sugar cube.
Camping season opens April 11... I can't wait!
