Busy, Busy
Jun. 13th, 2007 08:37 amI departed the office an hour earlier than usual yesterday: I had finished everything I planned to for the day and my energy was low so I used the extra time to beat the evening commuter traffic. Once home, I logged back into the office to track e-mail and respond to simple requests.
Our lawn service arrived at the house shortly after I did, followed shortly by our cleaning service. The shrubs still need to be hacked into submission but the property is now much tidier, inside & out.
The replacement power supply for my Windows XP box arrived in the mail. For some reason, I remembered swapping these things out as being incredibly painful and tedious; to my surprise, I had the component replaced and reconnected within 5 minutes. It's working beautifully: the machine boots when it is told to, and shuts down when I want it to rather than a random time of its own choosing. Victory!
Still somewhat bored, I worked on laundry, folded clothes, updated the antiviral packages on the computers & initiated full scans, fixed some issues with a couple of C1 square dance figures, caught up on e-mail, composed an agenda for Thursday's IAGSDC 2009 convention meeting, typed up my report to the GCA on the 2007 IAGSDC delegates' meeting for the GCA secretary, emptied & reloaded the dishwasher, caught up on our square dance revenue/expense bookkeeping, filed a stack of papers, cleaned off the coffee table, separated paper between that which gets recycled & shredded, sprayed a wasp's nest near the hot tub, paid two bills online, updated my web site slightly and entered a bunch of dates into my Palm.
At the end, I was still bored but with even less energy.
Eric, a dear friend of ours from Manassas, spent the night in our guestroom. He's attending a family function today in our area so camping out chez nous saved him a long, tedious commute. We spent a fun and quiet evening dining on delivered chinese food and watching Kathy Griffin on Bravo before I called it an early night and headed for bed at 10 PM.
