Productivity!
Mar. 9th, 2007 12:30 pmI had originally booked off today as vacation to fly to Cleveland to visit
cuyahogarvr but Warren's passing, the scheduling of his memorial tomorrow and a handful of other events have conspired against travel. Still, the vacation request was approved so...
There were two conference calls this morning. I suppose I could have skipped them but one was related to my past week as UNIX Primary and the other to a major project I've been busting my ass over for weeks so I wanted to acquit myself completely of both. And both meetings were a success, so I'm content.
Between the conference calls, I skipped across town to get my hair cut, purchase mouthwash and indulge myself in a Krispy Kreme cinnamon-covered apple jelly donut (ok, two). There was a line as the post office so I didn't get the stamps I wanted, but the trip was otherwise a success.
The dishwasher has been run, emptied & reloaded. A load of whites is tumbling in the dryer right now so I'll have a clean white shirt for tomorrow's service. Warren's partner, Tom, passed a number of record and CDs to us last night for combining into a mix for atmosphere music at the service; I've digitized most of them and
kent4str will work on mixing tonight.
Earlier this week, I made two donations in honour of Warren, $100 to All Join Hands and $100 to DC Diamond Circulate, the 2009 IAGSDC convention of which I'm secretary and Warren was a big supporter. (Tom was chair of the 1994 IAGSDC convention here in DC; Warren was a staff caller.) Just now, I've submitted both donations to my employer for matching gifts.
Still to do:
- air fare to Toronto for mid-April (grandma's 80th birthday);
- finish DC Diamond Circulate registration form;
- Contact RV Wholesalers to order a replacement stereo radio DVD player for the trailer.
