I do have a handful of minor things I could get done at the office, but my heart just isn't in it at the moment. I'm letting myself slack off until 10:30 AM and then I will force myself to at least get a start on the project at hand.

In the interim, I'm uploading about 750 MB of digital photos to www.clarkcolor.com into various online photo albums with the intent of submitting the lot to be printed. I could do it from home, but the bandwidth from work is vastly better than my DSL upload speed.

Other than that, there's not much to report. The lines at the malls and stores are back to their normal levels so I was able to venture out into the world for a little shopping. The first stop was Lowes where I purchased a replacement halogen bulb for the ceiling light fixture of our computer room. The old bulb blew over a week ago but there was no way in hell I was venturing into Home Depot or Lowes for a replacement during the xmas shopping madness; I've been working by an old incandescent desk lamp in the interim. As of yesterday afternoon, however, the computer room is fully lit once again.

We also ventured out to Sam's Club and Giant for major grocery shopping last night. Again, we didn't want to face the xmas holiday crowds before now so we were using up the inventory in the pantry and freezer with occasional dining out. The kitchen is now fully stocked once again.

More news as it happens...

Yes, it's two days after xmas but it's still raising my blood pressure.

I'm trying to get some Fisher Price "Read With Me" DVDs for my two-year-old niece in Parry Sound, Ontario. While I've found suppliers in the US, sending them across the border into Canada not only will require additional shipping expense, but also customs & duties, processing fees and a tonne of headaches for the recipients. I've shipped items to family in Canada before and regretted it every time: I now only order from Canadian outlets to be shipped directly to Canadian destinations.

The snag is that I haven't been able to find any retail outlet outside of the US of "Read With Me" products. All the usual suspects --Sears, Hudson's Bay, Zellers, Canadian Tire, Toys-R-Us.ca, Amazon.ca, etc.-- have all come up dry.

Anyone have any recommendations of online Canadian retail outlets? Kaylee will forgive a single present from her weird uncles arriving late, but if I can't find something soon, I'll have to think of some form of Plan B.
