Going' on a cruise!
Sep. 12th, 2006 09:10 amThe Caribbean? The Mediterranean? The coast of Alaska? Nope.
The Potomac.
My engineering division is going on a midday cruise on the Potomac River September 20. We found out this morning. That's not enough warning to reschedule a lot of meetings, training sessions, etc., so the best we can hope for is a significant portion of our team attending... Why do managers do dumb things like that?
I suppose I should be grateful for the reward but frankly, I'd prefer a day off instead. Or a week of jeans days.
Nothing quite like being trapped on a boat of straight people attempting to dance. If you hear on the evening news about some geek escaping a cruise in a lifeboat, you'll know why.
