bjarvis: (DC Diamond Circulate)
A few days ago, I submitted a completed US Internal Revenue Service Form 1023, an application for tax-exempt status for a not-for-profit organization, to our pro bono lawyer. This was on behalf of DC Diamond Circulate, Inc., the corporation created to host the 2009 IAGSDC square dance convention in April of 2009.

This afternoon, I received the following bit of interim good news from our lawyer:

Great news!  I received your package with the completed Form 1023 and filed it yesterday.  I have attached a copy of the filing.  It has been a pleasure working with you to prepare this filing.  In my past experience, most groups that I have assisted with filings are not nearly as organized as you are.

YES! I WIN! :-)

Anal retentativeness is a Good Thing.

About frackin' time, At long last, Coffee Crisp chocolate bars will be made available by Nestle in the US!

What's a coffee crisp? Heathen! By a wide margin, it's the greatest chocolate bar ever! I usually buy lots when I'm in Canada --they're available at any convenience store there-- but the only place I've found them in the US is at the World Market stores, sold as exotic international fare. Go figure.
