Toronto!

I have arrived in Toronto!

As planned, I headed to work this morning to do my presentation and squeeze signatures & approvals from various managers for a set of policy documents I've been working on this past week. After dispensing with the paperwork and redistributing a number of other projects to colleagues, I headed to BWI airport at 2 PM.

Our flight was a little delayed in arriving at BWI so we were 30 minutes late in departing but the flight to Buffalo, NY, was uneventful. Getting the rental car from Budget took a little while as they had to call in a compact from off-site, but by 7 PM, I was on my way to the Canadian border.

Cutting through Buffalo to Fort Erie, ON, was surprisingly easy: after a few questions at Canada Customs, flashing my CDN passport, and paying $2.50 USD for a bridge toll, I was almost the only car on the QEW all the way to downtown Toronto.

I'm staying at Casa Schrag-Moffett in the Riverdale area until Thursday afternoon. Tomorrow (Tuesday), I'll be spending the entire day with family before & after Gail's 2 PM funeral in Paris, ON. Still not sure what I'm doing Wednesday or early Thursday but I do want to do a little shopping and perhaps snap some photos here & there.

More news as it develops.
