Busy with ACDC
Feb. 17th, 2006 10:21 amI booked today off work as a vacation day several months ago and I'm very glad I did. In the past two hours, I've changed the sheets on our bed, taken out the garbage & recycling, run two loads of laundry, emptied & refilled the dishwasher, stuffed the dance calling equipment into the minivan along with our suitcases for the weekend, updated the antiviral software on some of the computers, updated & mailed off our Callerlab renewals for 2006 and am about to mail off Kent's rebate application for his cell phone.
Currently, I'm nibbling on breakfast and waiting for the cleaning crew to arrive for their fortnightly scrubbing of our house. I'm also composing a list of little things I must not forget before leaving for downtown later today: my club badges, checking with Kent to see if he remembered his, making replacement ACDC badges for attendees who have forgotten theirs, etc..
I hope to check into the Washington Marriott around 2:30 PM and begin assembling registration packages. I suspect I'll be the first of our fly-in committee to arrive so I may have some signing duties with the hotel staff, but that should be relatively simple. I've done everything required on my checklist and am currently taking it on faith that others on the committee have done their assigned tasks.
If you're in DC any time this weekend from , say, 5 PM tonight to 2 PM on Sunday, drop by the Washington Marriott, 1211 22nd Street NW for a visit and to see what all of the fuss is about!
