I collected Jerry & David from BWI with only minor mental trauma. We expected their flight to be late as they had called from Columbus indicating the plane hadn't started boarding yet as of the original flight time. Upon arriving at BWI, the flight monitors indicated the plane was arriving on time at gate B19, luggage claim at carousel 4. At the luggage claim area, carousel 4 was clearly marked for Southwest #522 from Columbus so I waited. And waited. And waited.

Checking the monitors, the flight was marked as landed for 30 minutes, then vanished from the screens. The carousel display showed Southwest #522 for about 30 minutes, then it vanished and three other flights were displayed. I attempted to call Jerry but got his voicemail instantly each time, indicating his phone was off. Nearly an hour after the flight had "landed", Jerry & David finally strolled through the arrivals gate.

As predicted, their flight was late leaving Columbus by about 45 minutes but no one bothered to update the monitors at the destination. As well, since the carousel display entry had expired, there were almost 100 people from the flight milling about trying to determine where their luggage would be showing up and the Southwest folks were of no help whatsoever.

Their luggage did eventually show up on carousel 4 so my early arrival wasn't a total waste after all, even if I had to pay extra for parking.

We popped by square dancing in DC for A2/C1 night briefly... I danced a disastrous A2 tip (ugly body flow with too many obtuse lefty formations and no opportunity for recovery), dropped off the flyers plugging [livejournal.com profile] otterpop58's upcoming Jan. 20 C1 dance and we headed for dinner up the street.

I had forgotten just how much David could eat. He and Kent ordered the same large Mexican platter. Kent boxed half of his to take home while David, no more than 60% of Kent's size, ate his entirely and shared a dessert with Jerry. Bitch.

We crawled home at close to 11 PM and I crashed almost immediately. It's going to be a looooong weekend.
